Stairs lead up to the City of Lexington and to the small Wall Street (a side street with VERY limited parking). Parking is provided across from the Memorial on Missouri HWY 224 on the north side.

This is a very simple Memorial consisting of a central whitewashed wall with black text. There is also a 10-foot flagpole flying a U.S. flag centrally located behind this wall. There are smaller flanking walls, also whitewashed, on each side - black text on the left reads"
"World War I
World War II"

While the text on the right wall reads:
"Korean War
Vietnam War"

The central wall text reads:
"Memorial
to
World War Veterans
of
Lafayette County
1925"

This would mean that this Memorial was originally dedicated to the veterans of the Great War (World War I) with the smaller, flanking walls either added later or dedicated later for the later wars. The Memorial does have a very nice view of the Missouri River.
