Skelton Grange Power Station operated from 1955 to 1995 and was supplied coal by the single track railway line.

These days the bridge is used by pedestrians and cyclists to access the towpath on the north side of the nearby Aire and Calder Navigation and a number of other paths in the area including one around Skelton Lake.
So although not formally recognised as such the bridge now functions as a small "rails to trails" route.

A similar bridge also crosses the River Aire to the north west of here.
Bridge Type: Arch

Bridge Usage: Pedestrian

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
