The inhabitants of the O Fonsillón neighborhood of Ourense and those of Aira and Villaescusa in Barbadás are more than just good neighbors. They share devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows and even share the image, which is kept in a small chapel and which also processes during Holy Week through the neighborhood of A Valenzá as it presides over the services of the novena of its festival in the social premises of Or Fonsillón.
For decades the residents of these three nuclei of the two municipalities had, when these dates arrived, not only religious appointment with novenas, masses and processions, but also recreational and musical activities as in any other patronal festival. Until two years ago, which was when it stopped being made. However, this weekend the brass bands will play again, the orchestras will animate the dances and there will be other proposals for the fun of both the residents in these towns and those who want to accompany them.
