This Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry dam is located in the town of Burk's Falls at a narrow channel in the South Magnetawan River. The structure is a concrete gravity dam with 2 stoplog spillways and 1 sluice gate.

The dam was originally constructed in 1904 as a rock filled crib structure and was reconstructed in 1925 to generate power for a wood working plant owned by the Knight Brothers. The dam is still owned by the province but is operated by Bracebridge Generation who now owns the generation station at the site.
