White cast-iron milestone on the Main Road (A1) the small village of St. John's.

This milestone is on the series of similar milestones which adorn the main roads on the Island. The A1 links Douglas the Island's capital with the fishing port of Peel in the west.

The milestone is positioned on the north side of the road opposite the St. John’s Methodist Church, near the Tynwald Close junction.

The distances shown on the milestone are as follows:
C.TOWN [Castletown]
9 1/2
MILES

DOUGLAS
8
MILES

and

Peel
2 3/4

This milestone as with the others in this series is well over 100 years old and not surprisingly is shown some signs of its age.
