The stone tablet in memory of Lily Barber and Joyce Porter is located on the grass just inside the churchyard near the war memorial and by the gate of St Mary's Church.

The arched gateway at the entrance to the churchyard was restored in their memory in 2010.

The inscription on the stone tablet reads as follows;

AND
JOYCE PORTER.

The arched gateway at the entrance to the churchyard is Grade II listed. The description given by British Listed Buildings reads as follows;

"Gateway to Churchyard of St Mary
Churchyard gateway. C17. Yellow sandstone ashlar. Central round
archway with hood-mould and lateral walling which has offsets.
Battlemented parapet above with crocketed pinnacles. A stone above
the arch has an inscription in C18 script which reads: "Thomas Dodd

illegible but records the date 1542 although Dodd in fact died in the late C17. Previously listed together with the Church of St Mary, the Green (q.v.).
