Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Pastor Danny Hembree and Dr. Martin Thielen will officiate. She left this world for Heaven Friday Morning, March 9, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Virginia’s life was defined by her favorite scripture: LOVE NEVER FAILS, 1 Corinthians 13:8. Her family looks forward to celebrating her life with friends Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Hooper- Huddleston & Horner and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

She met the love of her life, Joe Gibson in 1941 while working at Dixie Optical Company. They soon married and started the large family named below.
Virginia worked as an office manager for Dr. Kenneth Haile and in various other medical offices in Cookeville. She is remembered also as a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Cookeville House and Garden Club, Cookeville Methodist Women and the Cumberland Art Society as well as the Nantahala River Rats Raft Club in Andrews, North Carolina.
“Nana” lived a life full of fun, adventure and unconditional love for others. She brought a sweet spirit and contagious smile everywhere she went. A faithful member of First United Methodist Church since September of 1949, she was honored as Queen Mother in 1984 when she was described as “active and vital” in her church life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gibson; and by sisters, Lucille Wright and Katie Mae Wright Pickett.
