This time capsule, named in honor of Halley's Comet, was buried the year the comet last passed through the inner solar system, and will be retrieved when it returns; at the Cosmosphere in Hutchison, Kansas.

The Halley's Comet Time Capsule at the Cosmosphere in Hutchison was buried on April 11, 1986 and will be opened in April 2061 when Halley's Comet returns to the inner solar system. You will find the time capsule in the lawn just southeast of the F1 rocket engine, southwest of the museum.
