Quarteira has been a fishing community for long. Initially a small village, it grew due to tourism and its splendid beaches. Nowadays it's mostly about tourism but there is still a fishing industry.
Its fishing harbor is located in the southwest of the town. Access is restricted so it only can be observed from outside. Provided coordinates are from the main gate.
The town's fish market is not in the harbor complex but it's nearby.
