Ce pigeonnier, en bordure du ruisseau de Notre Dame, à Valensole est de forme carrée.
Si les pigeonniers rond, en Provence, sont traditionnellement des structures n'abritant que des pigeons et quelques fois de la volaille au rez-de chaussée, les pigeonniers carrés sont des constructions accueillant aussi les habitants.
Pour celui-ci, on voit bien que le rez-de chaussée et le premier étage étaient habitable par la présence de porte, de fenêtres et d'un petit balcon alors que la partie sous le toit accueillait les pigeons dont on voit toujours les entrées et quelques faïences sur les bords.
