Inspired by the purple martin that is still fairly prominent in the area, the City of Lewisville's emblem is the silhouette of a bird in flight, and this one graces a city limit sign between Lewisville and Flower Mound on Valley Ridge Blvd at I-35E.

While these aren't at every crossing wherever Lewisville touches another municipality, there are more than a few of them to be found, and some variants feature a solid bird. This one is mounted on an L-shaped brick base, with "Lewisville" in block letters on each side. The sign is made of stainless steel, with two streaks across the top. The bird itself is in silhouette, while the outline of the state of Texas is made of small, punched holes, and it may be intended to resemble the bird's shadow.
