The plaque on the monument for Willie Warner states the cause of death as drowning. The grave is located in Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles, Michigan. The plaque states:

“In tribute to WILLIE WARNER who joined the society April 16, 1891 at the age of nineteen years, was drowned June 14, 1891 and was the first member to pass to the great beyond This plaque is placed by the SOVEREIGN CAMP, WOODMEN OF THE WORLD”
