L' existence d'un pont situé sur le torrent de Bonne remonte au temps de l'occupation romaine à la fin du Ier siècle avant Jésus-Christ. Sa situation géostratégique hors les murs de la ville en a longtemps fait un passage obligé tout au long des siècles. Il reste donc un témoin majeur de l'histoire de la ville.
