Carl Baker ran the Main Street Barber Shop here in Old Town Lewisville for forty years before retiring in 2014. The Perc moved in and opened for business in 2016, retaining the barber pole as a reminder of this vintage building's heritage. The store's decor is based on "vintage treasures, as the owners also operate Main Street Mercantile next door, which makes the barber pole an excellent fit. The wooden wall that you see by the bar is made from old pine wood that was rescued from a house in Jacksboro some years ago. There's plenty of seating, inside and out, and if you're willing to climb some stairs, there's an area with tables and chairs that offers a good view of Wayne Ferguson Plaza and City Hall behind the shop. Get a cold drink if you go up there, as there's only a fan to offer respite from the heat.
They have a nice selection of locally roasted coffee drinks, hot or cold, and their website or Facebook page are good places to look for seasonal offerings. They also have bottled soft drinks, bottled water, hot cocoa, and a selection of tea and related drinks. If you need a little snack, they have a small menu with breakfast and lunch sandwiches and pastries.
They do offer free, secure wi-fi, and while outlets aren't plentiful, there are a good number to be found if you're planning to stay awhile as you enjoy your drink.
