In Andel, op de locatie van de vroegere Romboutskerk, ligt het graf van Jan Claesen. De tekst op de grafsteen luidt (eigen transcriptie):

Hier leyt begraven Jan Claesen jonggesel van Neerandel de welche van eenen moordenaer van Bredae vermoort is met syn pertye op donderdach savonts omtrent sonnen onderganc weesenden den vyfden october ende syn bloet onschuldich ende levendich geplondert ende wert begraven des sondachs daer en weesen den achtsen october anno 1634.

Jan Claesen uit Neerandel is op vijf oktober 1634 vermoord en geplunderd door iemand uit Breda en zijn bende (pertye). Het was een roofmoord. Het graf, is behalve deze doodsoorzaak, ook door de ouderdom en de connectie met de figuur Jan Klaassen bijzonder.

In Andel, on the site of the former Rombouts Church, is the grave of Jan Claesen. The text on the gravestone reads (own transcription):

Jan Claesen bachelor of Neerandel is buried here, who by a murderer of Breda and his gang was murdered on a thursday evening at the sunset on the fifth october and being innocent and plundered alive and was buried on sunday here and on the 8th of October 1634.

Jan Claesen from Neerandel was murdered on October 5, 1634, and looted by someone from Breda and his gang (pertye). It was a robbery. Besides this cause of death, the grave is also special because of its age and the connection with the figure of Jan Klaassen.
