The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross is located on the corner of West Main and South Pearl Streets in North East, Pennsylvania. The congregation was organized in 1869 by local citizens, including a number of immigrants from England. The cornerstone of the present church building was laid in 1878 and it was made a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. The church was not consecrated, however, until September 25, 1884. The church has a red brick exterior, with a bell tower which was reduced in height in the 1930s.
