[ENG] A little north of Harreshausen there is a field with a beautiful oak tree. It is a natural monument and about 550 years old. It is considered the mother of all pyramid oaks in Europe and is well documented. The oldest drawing of the tree dates back to 1766.

The "Wonder Tree of Harreshausen" has a regularly conical trunk with a completely knot-free lower part. The crown only begins at a height of twelve metres; there the trunk ends abruptly. The rather irregular shape is due to two lightning strikes in 1871 and 1928, in which large parts of the tree crown were lost.
