The Rev. Peter M. Colapietro was one of the New York City’s most beloved priests. He served at St. Vito’s Parish in Mamaroneck from 1976 to 1982 before coming to new York City. He then was parochial vicar of St. Joseph’s parish in the Yorkville section of Manhattan, from 1982 to 1992, administrator and pastor of Holy Cross Church until 2013 and finally pastor of St. Malachy’s-The Actors’ Chapel since from 2015 until his death in 2018.
Fr. Colapietro was known for his outgoing personality. He was a familiar source to the New York City press and a friend of celebrities as well as ordinary New Yorkers.
