Musical Ride Stables
and Riding School
As a tribute to Stuart Zachary Wood,
this building is named in recognition
of his many outstanding
contributions to the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police and the musical Ride.
Born in 1889 and engaged in 1912,
he served as Commissioner of the
RCMP from March 6, 1938 to April 30, 1951.
Commissioner Wood died in Ottawa
on January 4, 1966.

Le présent immeuble est nommé en l’honneur
de Stuart Zachary Taylor Wood, pour reconnaître
ses nombreuses réalisations au sein de la
Gendarmerie Royale du Canada et du
Carrousel. Né en 1889 et engagé en 1912, il a
été Commissaire de la GRC du 6 mars 1938 au
30 avril 1951. Le Commissaire Wood est décédé à
Ottawa le 4 janvier 1966.
