Engine 57, Clinton, IA - Fire Fighting Vehicles on Waymarking.com

Engine 57, One of 7 engines located at three different fire stations in Clinton, Iowa. Engine 57 went to a fire that all of Clinton's firetrucks went to just two weeks ago.

A call had come in just after sunset that an apartment building was on fire. When Engine 57 arrived at the apartment house, there were flames coming out of some of the windows. Hoses were connected to fire hydrants by some of the firemen. Other firemen went into the building to make sure everyone was out. Then they started fighting the fire. The building was very old, and even though the firefighters worked very hard, the fire got bigger and bigger. More firetrucks and firemen were called to come and help. Soon there was fire comming out of the roof and all of the windows. The firemen could not save the building. They sprayed water on some buildings that were close to the fire and kept those buildings from burning. By morning all that was left of the big building was a pile of smoking ruins. A lot of families did not have a home any more.
