The Special Natural Reserve of Las Dunas de Maspalomas is made up of three natural elements: a large space of mobile and fixed dunes formed by the remains of marine organisms, the remains of a large palm grove and the coastal lagoon known as La Charca.

Three different ecosystems of great botanical value, with an interesting fauna and great landscape beauty. It was declared as such in 1994

Dunes and pond

This natural space is located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in the south of the island of Gran Canaria and has an area of ??403.9 hectares. This municipality is part of the World Biosphere Reserve.

Among its fauna we can find: the Canarian Lizard, Royal Shrike, Hoopoe, Plover, Sandpipers, Egrets, Curlews, Parrots, Redfish, Stilt, Turnstone and Turkish Turtle Doves.

The flora include: date palms, Canary Island tamarisks, Balancon, Uvilla, Siempreviva, and the Maritime Ruppia.

Dunas y la charca

Este espacio natural se encuentra en el municipio de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, al sur de la isla de Gran Canaria y tiene una superficie de 403,9 hectáreas. Este municipio forma parte de la Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera.

Entre su fauna podemos encontrar: al Lagarto canario, Alcaudón real, Abubilla, Chorlitejo, Correlimos, Garcetas, Zarapitos, Cotorras, Gallinetas, Cigüeñuela, Vuelvepiedras y Tórtolas turca.
