Simond's Burying Ground, also referred to as Snider Burying Ground and Massassauga Cemetery. The front gates have yet another name: Simond's Pioneer Cemetery.
Records indicate that this was an active cemetery from the mid-1830s.
Latest burial was about 1935.
The cemetery lists 44 known graves, but there are about 100 more unlisted. Markers range from crude stone etching to indented polished marble.
Local farmers cut the grass, but the cemetery is largely abandoned.
There are a few recent pet burials eveident here.
access to the cemetery is only by foot along a trail leading from Marsh Road to the east. Parking and the trailhead are located at:
