[DE] Das Mahnmal befindet sich auf der südlichen Seite der Steinernen Brücke in Weilburg. Es wurde ursprünglich 1922 von dem Bildhauer Heilig geschaffen und am 06. Mai 1923 eingeweiht. Es wurde 1945 bei der Sprengung der Brücke zerstört. 2006 wurde das Mahnmal erneuert.

Es zeigt eine fast lebensgroße Frauengestalt, symbolisierend eine Kriegswitwe, die ihre Hände schützend über zwei Kinder zu ihren Seiten hält.

Die Inschrift lautet:
Aus unseres Volkes größter Zeit - von unserer Heimat tiefster Not soll dieser Stein - o Wanderer Dir erzählen - Schau an das Kind - blick auf den Knaben - sie sollen es einst besser haben - dazu hilf mit.

[ENG] The memorial is located on the southern side of the stone bridge in Weilburg. It was originally created in 1922 by the sculptor Heilig and inaugurated on May 6, 1923. It was destroyed in 1945 when the bridge was destroyed. In 2006 the memorial was renovated.

It shows an almost life-size female figure, symbolizing a war widow, who holds her hands over two children at her sides.
