Description:

George Ault Mosel, Jr. in Steubenville, OH on May 1, 1922. He was educated at Amherst College, Yale Drama School, and Columbia University. He became famous as a playwright writing under the name Tad Mosel. He wrote for the stage, screen and especially for television during the early days of television when live television dramas were popular.

He won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama in 1961 for his play All the Way Home which was premiered on Broadway on November 30, 1960. The play was then adapted for a film in 1963. He was also nominated for a Tony Award for his stage adaptation of James Agee's novel A Death in the Family.
