Located on the Florida SouthWestern State College campus is a statue of William Shakespeare’s characters Romeo and Juliet. This statue of two well known star-crossed lovers was sculpted by Milton Hebald.

Originally purchased by local art collectors and donors of the college, Dr. Richard H. and Mrs. Julia Rush, from the estate of New York publisher George T. Delacorte, Jr. It was donated to the college and placed in a garden in 1994.

Standing 7 feet tall the statue is mounted in a marble base at the edge of the garden. The garden and statue are located west of the Humanities Hall and north of the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall near a koi pond and fountain with seating nearby.
