Sucre is a historical town, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has plenty of monuments, including a fair number of churches and convents.

Convent and church of Santa Teresa are located in the historical center and by its side there is the Callejón de Santa Teresa.

Until the 60's this alley was paved with cow knee-bones, which was considered a way to have some degree of protection against the ghosts who haunted the alley. Accordingly to the local faith, these bones are a positive element and offer good luck.

There were several ghosts believed to live here. Amongst them, a baby with moustache and full teeth.

The alley was repaved with beautiful cobblestone and although the haunting stories were partially forgotten, it is still a spooky place to walk by night.
