Harmon Park is a two-block area near the center of Lawton. Constructed in 1936 it is bordered by Bell Avenue on the north and Arlington on the south, between 13th and 14th Streets.
The coordinates above are located at the arched entrance on 14th Street. This tan sandstone arch with the name HARMON PARK etched in red sandstone, is located on the west side of the park.
There are numerous WPA-constructed items in the park, which include picnic tables, a wading pool, and a footbridge. In the 1970's the park was updated with the addition of a nice playground area and a covered picnic pavilion with BBQ grill. On the north side of the park is a quonset-styled building occupied by Lawton Community Theater.
On the east side of the park, running north-south a small creek has been lined with rock and concrete with under-road bridges at either end. A nearby stone footbridge built by the WPA has been moved to the grassy area alongside the creek, and is a unique sight to see, with its sandstone pillars and arched walkway.
