My Commentary:
Nelson Dewey was the first Governor of the State of Wisconsin and a native son of Lancaster. His final resting place is less than a mile from this location. Grant County thought enough of him and this statue to include it on the County Flag. The statue is approximately 4 foot tall and the plinth 6 foot tall. The statue and plinth are in good repair, although the statue and the plinth could use a good cleaning. The landscaping, including the hedging, appear to be kept in good maintenance. The statue is unlit, however, being on public property it would be available 24/7.
