History noted in FFX County webpage:
1917 - After the "Big Fire," The Town Counsel and Citizen's Association formed a volunteer fire department, the fourth in Fairfax County.
1949 - The Herndon Fire Department had 150 volunteers.
1950 - The fire house replaced the original 1929 building.
2018 - The latest fire house replaced the 2nd incarnation and is a larger more up to date facility to support the growing community and fire fighters.
