According to the Grand Forks Herald, back in October of 2015, the skyline for the city of Glyndon started changing. A new 200,000 gallon water tower was hoisted in place. It will replace the roughly 40-year-old existing tower that could only hold 50,000 gallons.
The city said it needed the new structure to ensure future economic growth. Cecil Johnson- Glyndon Mayor: "It will enhance probably new development, which we hope to have coming here within the next year or two."
The water tower cost just more than $1 million. They hope to have it working by the beginning of next year.
The city did get the tower switch in and have built a new 50 house neighborhood in the last few years.
