The Baroque Old Town Hall (Stará radnice) in Jicín, originally a building used as a meat market hall (Masné krámy), was as seat of the town authorities in years 1851-1950.

Old Town Hall, located in Baroque house N° 99 in the main public space of the town Jicín - Valdštejnovo námestí (Wallenstein Square), was built for meat market in the 17th century. In the East Bohemian region, it is a unique example of a typical town house for the sale of only one type of goods, later used for administrative purposes of the municipality. The Old Town Hall, a two-storey house on the corner of the Wallenstein Square and Nerudova Street, in the square side with an arcade, is adjacent to the house N° 57 in the east. House N° 57 was structurally connected with the house N° 99 and thus also became a part of the municipal office in 1840. Currently, the house is used for commercial purposes (shops, offices).

Jicín (German: Gitschin; 16600 inhabitants), a town in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czechia (East Bohemia geographically), lies approximately 85 km NE of Prague in the scenic region of the Bohemian Paradise (Ceský ráj) under the Prachov Rocks (Prachovské skály). Jicín has been declared a Municipal Reserve (mestská památková rezervace) because of its well-preserved historical center, built around a rectangular square with a regular Gothic street layout, remnants of fortifications and arcade Renaissance and Baroque houses. The town is also connected with the popular fairy-tale character, Robin Hood-like robber Rumcajs. The Battle of Gitschin was fought nearby during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. The town of Jicín was probably founded at the end of the 12th century. [wiki]
