A lockdown has been lifted at Skyline Elementary School in Stillwater after police spoke with a parent who officials said gained unauthorized access to the building Tuesday afternoon.
School officials said they placed the school on a lockdown after the parent gained unauthorized access to the building. Officials then notified Stillwater police.
Because the threat was inside the building, students at recess at the time of the incident were evacuated with police escort to a secure location as a safety precaution, officials said.
Officials said the parent involved left the school and police spoke with him at his home at about 12:45 p.m. The lockdown at the school was then lifted.
The junior high and middle schools were on lockout during the incident.
