Descriptif

Oudezeele is a village and commune 24 kilometres south-south-east of Dunkirk and about 7.6 kilometres north-east of Cassel, a town on the N.16 main road from Dunkirk to Hazebrouck and St. Pol. The village is on the D.218 secondary road from Cassel. In this churchyard, near the north-eastern corner of the church, are the graves of 5 soldiers from the United Kingdom, 2 of them are not identified.

558605 Trooper Douglas Bird, 1st East Riding Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps, died 28th May 1940, aged 21. Son of Arthur and Bertha Bird of Normanton, Yorkshire.

803457 Sapper George French North, 100 Army Field Company, Royal Engineers, died 29th May 1940, aged 25.

2324740 Sapper James Robert Ware, 100 Army Field Company, Royal Engineers, died 29th May 1940, aged 36. Son of Ebenezer Robert and Alice Ware; Husband of Grace Caroline Mamie Ware of Gillingham, Kent.

Oudezeele est un village et une commune à 24 kilomètres au sud-sud-est de Dunkerque et à environ 7,6 kilomètres au nord-est de Cassel, une ville sur la route principale N.16 de Dunkerque à Hazebrouck et St. Pol. Le village est sur la route secondaire D.218 de Cassel. Dans ce cimetière, près du coin nord-est de l'église, se trouvent les tombes de 5 soldats du Royaume-Uni, 2 d'entre eux n'ont pas été identifiés.
