The convent is one of the oldest buildings in the city, built in unknown date between late 16th Century and early 17the Century.
It is still active as a convent and only Carmelites nuns are allowed to enter the premisses, although access to the church is permitted for Sunday mass service.
One of the highlights of the convent, it's door made in carved wood, can be observed at any time. Also, it's possible to buy pastries from the nuns
It was declared National Historical Monument on the 14th July 1941.
