History
The project to build a new organ in the church of Saint-Astier was born in May 1987.

In May 1989, the town hall approved the project, carried out with the assistance of organist Francis Chapelet and project manager Jean-Pierre Decavèle. The Association of Friends of the Organ is created.

The financing was concluded with the DRAC, the Regional Council of Aquitaine and the General Council of the Dordogne in 1998.

The Pesce de Pau house project was selected in 2001.

The lengthy restoration of the interior of the church, the careful choice of the location of the organ in the building and the construction of the gallery delayed the installation of the organ.

The organ was blessed by Monseigneur Mouïsse, bishop of Périgueux-Sarlat and inaugurated by Christian Mouyen, organ holder of the Saint-Front cathedral in Périgueux with the help of the "Royal Symphonies" ensemble on December 6, 2008.

Description
Solid spruce sideboard with a total height of 7.80 meters decorated in green and gold by Alain Cornil. The facade includes a central round turret of 7 pipes framed by a series of flat faces on three floors of 7 pipes each, two turrets in third point of 7 pipes each and two flat side faces on two floors. The facade contains a total of 91 pewter pipes. The console is in a window, it includes two 56-note manual keyboards, a 30-note pedal board and 22 registers. 4 box springs in oak. Two single-fold wedge bellows. Lead posts. Mechanical suspended. 1468 speaking pipes.

Histoire
Le projet de construire un orgue neuf en l’église de Saint-Astier est né en mai 1987.

En mai 1989, la mairie donne son accord au projet mené avec l’assistance de l’organiste Francis Chapelet et du maître d’oeuvre Jean-Pierre Decavèle. L’association des Amis de l’orgue est créée.

Le financement est conclu avec la DRAC, le Conseil Régional d’Aquitaine et le Conseil Général de la Dordogne en 1998.

Le projet de la maison Pesce de Pau est retenu en 2001.

Les longs travaux de restauration de l’intérieur de l’église, le choix délicat de l’emplacement de l’orgue dans l’édifice et la construction de la tribune retardèrent l’installation de l’orgue.

L’orgue a été béni par Monseigneur Mouïsse, évêque de Périgueux-Sarlat et inauguré par Christian Mouyen, titulaire des orgues de la cathédrale Saint-Front de Périgueux avec le concours de l’ensemble "Symphonies Royales" le 6 décembre 2008.

Descriptif
Buffet en épicéa massif d’une hauteur totale de 7,80 mètres décoré en vert et or par Alain Cornil. La façade comprend une tourelle centrale en arrondie de 7 tuyaux encadrée par une série de plates faces sur trois étages de 7 tuyaux chacunes, de deux tourelles en tiers point de 7 tuyaux chacunes et de deux plates faces latérales sur deux étages. La façade comprend en tout 91 tuyaux en étain. La console est en fenêtre, elle comprend deux claviers manuels de 56 notes, un pédalier de 30 notes et 22 registres. 4 sommiers en chênes. Deux soufflets cunéiformes à un seul pli. Postages en plomb. Mécanique suspendue. 1468 tuyaux parlant.
