Marquis Hall was built in 1935 as the first dormitory on the college campus, and it bears the name of R.L. Marquis, the sixth president. It was renovated in 2014-2015, and is now used by UNT-International as office space. On September 21, 2015, the International Day of Peace, it was re-opened, and this peace pole was dedicated. It is made of limestone, standing ten feet tall, and the languages on each of its seven sides represent the most popular languages spoken at UNT.
Languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, and Thai
