The Baroque Church of St. Anne (Kostel Sv. Anny) in Kadan, originally administered by Lutherans and later Catholics, is currently used by Orthodox church and dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin (Narození presvaté Bohorodice).
Originally, the Renaissance single-nave church building replaced an older wooden prayer house from 1575, which was established in the middle of the cemetery founded in 1555. The church, built in front of the Prunérov Gate, served to the local parish of the Czech Utraquist Church, then the Kadan Lutherans respectively. The church served to the Utraquists and Lutherans until 1621, when during Recatolization it was officially confiscated, closed and sealed. Shortly afterwards, he received a new patronage of St. Anne and for many years functioned as a Catholic cemetery church. Today's building acquired a Baroque appearance during the 18th century (1713: tower added, 1786-1806: Baroque facade). The church has been rented for worship by the Orthodox Church since 1950 (and is referred to as the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin). Once a suburban church, it is now located in the city center on Löschner Square. The church underwent extensive repairs to the facade, interior and trusses between 2002 and 2007, and a new roof covering was laid.
