Castle Hills is in the north central area of the greater metropolitan area of San Antonio, TX. Using either Castle Hills or San Antonio will work on finding where 209 Lemmonwood Drive on a map or GPS unit. This nicely built and highly decorated Little Free Library is within the shade of a tree growing along the walking path that circles this neighborhood pocket park named The Commons of Castle Hills. This little park fills the space between the City Hall and the Fire Department and Maintenance buildings.
Parking is available at the City Hall adjacent to the park containing the Little Free Library. Across the street is a public elementary school which has a few guest parking spaces, but I'm not sure how the school would handle people parking there but not for school business. There is also curbside parking if you are willing to park a block away.
The community lending library unit is in a circle of rounded stones with some concrete stepping stone leading to the entrance of the little library. Smaller sized rocks are pained various colors and are laid within the boundary stones, like it was a giant nest of some sort. The box holding the books has a shelf dividing the internal space into two parts. the lower shelf has a mix of young reader books and some regular pulp fiction and novels for general reading. The higher shelf appeared to be mostly early reading books for young elementary-level children.
The concept of the Little Free Library is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book or add a book to this exchange unit, or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with books for others. Its is a win-win situation.
