The Duchcov Viaduct Memorial (Památník duchcovského viaduktu) commemorates the victims of a clash of hunger marches with gendarmes (the so-called Duchcov Strikes) on February 4, 1931 in Duchcov, during which four unemployed workers were shot dead.
The construction of the monument has been considered since the early 1950s, the author of the original design was the academic sculptor Vlastimil Vecera. In the end, however, the design of the academic sculptor Karel Lerch was realized. The central motif of the memorial was the relief "Worker's Pieta", which depicted a fallen worker in the arms of a woman and a standing man with a boy. In this form, the monument was unveiled in September 7, 1954, right next to the viaduct, at the site of the tragedy. Another significant transformation of the monument took place in 1963, when the monument was moved to the city center. The monument was transferred and a symbolic wall was added for the bronze relief, which evoked the lost authenticity of the railway viaduct, the place of the accident. At this place stands a monument to this day.
