In Bonn-Castell befindet sich die ehemalige Pädagogischen Hochschule, eine Außenstelle der Universität Bonn, wo Studenten unter anderem Pädagogik, Informatik, Chemie und Sport studiert haben. Seit der Errichtung des Campus Poppelsdorf und der Zentralisierung der Institute wird der Studienbetrieb hier zunehmend weniger und die Gebäude kaum noch genutzt.

Auf dem Platz zwischen Hauptgebäude und Mensa befindet sich ein Kunstwerk von Günter Tollmann aus dem Jahr 1981. Die Plastik besteht aus drei etwa 6 Meter hohen Edelstahl-Zylindern, deren oberen Teile beweglich sind und sich um die mittlere Achse drehen können. Angetrieben wird der Mechanismus vom Wind.

Bei meinem Besuch war es nicht allzu windig, daher ist auf den Bildern nur wenig Bewegung zu sehen und die Zylinder sind fast gerade ausgerichtet.
In Bonn-Castell is the former University of Education, a branch of the University of Bonn, where students studied education, computer science, chemistry and sports. Since the establishment of the Campus Poppelsdorf and the centralization of the institutes, the studying here has been increasingly reduced and the buildings are now hardly used.

On the plaza between the main building and the canteen is a work of art by Günter Tollmann from 1981. The sculpture consists of three approximately 6 meter high stainless steel cylinders, the upper parts of which can move and rotate around the central axis. The mechanism is driven by the wind.

During my visit it was not too windy, so there is little movement in the pictures and the cylinders are almost straight aligned.
