These two binoculars are a fairly new addition to the Strand. They are located on the riverfront of the River Medway Estuary.

These two binoculars are on the same framework, but at different heights. The higher one is good for taller children or adults. The lower one is designed for small children and those less able and need to use wheelchairs or similar forms of transport to move around.

These are ideal for looking at the small leisure crafts and boats, and larger sea going vessels on the river as they pass by. Or they can be used to view the small islands that are in the river and cut off by the seawater.

There are five buttons to press, one gives an introduction speech, whilst the four other buttons give different accounts and memories for four local people.

Both binoculars, supplied by Medway Council are free of charge to use.
Cost to Operate: Free

Primary Vista: Boats and yachts on the river

Number of devices at the site: 2

Other Vistas at the location:
Local islands in the river, or over the river to the Hoo peninsular on the opposite side of the river
