Al in de 12de eeuw moet op de plaats van de dorpskerk al een stenen kerk hebben gestaan. Daarvoor stond er vermoedelijk een rietgedekte houten kerk. De kerk was gewijd aan de heilige Antonius. Op 6 juni 1855 brandde de kerk af, een grote brand vernielde een deel van de kerk en tevens een groot deel van de dorpswoningen, alleen een gedeelte van de toren van de kerk bleef behouden. In 1857 werd met nieuwbouw begonnen. In 1949 zijn drie nieuwe klokken gegoten, ter vervanging van de vroegere twee klokken. Ze hadden de gewichten van respectievelijk 650, 371 en 260 kilo en klonken in gis, b en cis. De middenklok is in 1961 vervangen na een scheuring. De opschriften luiden naar klokken:

1. 'Deze klokken zijn geschonken in 1948 ter vervanging der klokken, die door de bezetter in 1943 zijn meegenomen' / 'Om de uren te tellen - De levenden te roepen, de doden te beklagen - Der vlammen te breken, schonk ons de burgerij'
2. 'Zoals de storm uw leven grijpt - En zonneschijn u weer verblijdt, zullen wij klokken met luiden - U lief en leed beduiden'
3: 'De uitvaart der doden - Gods vriendelijke noden, De wisseling der stonden - Wij u verkonden'
In 1960 is de kerk nog een keer verlengd.

As early as the 12th century, a stone church must have stood on the site of the village church. Before that there probably was a thatched wooden church. The church was dedicated to Saint Anthony. On June 6, 1855, the church burned down, a major fire destroyed part of the church and also a large part of the village houses, only part of the tower of the church was preserved. New construction started in 1857. Three new bells were cast in 1949, replacing the earlier two bells. They weighed 650, 371, and 260 pounds, respectively, and sounded in gis, b, and cis. The center clock was replaced in 1961 after a split. The inscriptions read bells:

1. "These bells were donated in 1948 to replace the bells taken by the occupying forces in 1943." '
2. "As the storm seizes your life - And sunshine rejoices you again, we will chime with bells - signify you joy and sorrow"
3: 'The funeral of the dead - God's kind needs, The changing of the stands - We proclaimed to you'
The church was extended once more in 1960.
