This beautiful memorable European beech (cultivar called Fern leaf Beech) you can find in the courtyard of Decín chateau.
This memorable tree growing in the courtyard of the Decín chateau was probably planted in the period after the reconstruction of the chateau, which took place in 1786–1803. The Decín chateau courtyard beech was declared a memorial tree protected by Czech law on 4 February 1994.
Fagus sylvatica Asplenifolia is a medium sized tree, pyramidal when young and developing a broad spreading crown with maturity, often becoming as wide as it is tall. It is a stunning specimen and the perfect choice for a parkland or feature tree. As indicated by its common name, the long, narrow foliage is deeply cut, soft and fern like.
