This time capsule was placed in front of Moorhead City Hall in June 1975. For those of us who remember just how wound up the country got for a few years leading up to and during the Bicentennial of the United States.
The placement of this time capsule, a little more then a year before July 4th 1976, was Moorheads kickoff of a long 200th birthday for the U.S.
The city placed the capsule under a marble marker that reads:
F/M CENTENNIAL
JUNE 1975
TO BE OPENED 2075
