In front of the Rainbow Springs State Park Visitor Center is what remains of the old Rainbow Springs Lodge front sitting area. The crescent shaped stone outcropping is no longer there. It has now been squared off and the National Natural Landmark plaque has been put in its place. However if you step to the edge and look down you will see remains of the original crescent foundation.
It's interesting to note that the cypress tree in the background on the right side of the "then photo" is still there. The "then photo" is from the late 1940's or early 1950's.
