This is a sad story about a well loved local EMT who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident.

Officials say one person was killed after a car and a motorcycle got into a wreck Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene after the motorcyclist collided with the side of a car at the intersection of NW 5th and Walker.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.
“It is with regret and deep sorrow to confirm an EMSA EMT died yesterday after being involved in a motorcycle collision at 5th and Walker. John Thompson was a well respected, dedicated individual who was a veteran and an integral part of the EMSA team. John will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.”

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
