The Big Fig (Ficus benjamina) is believed to have been planted by railway workers in the 1890's. The tree measures 15m around it's girth and is 15m high and with a 35m canopy span.
The Big Fig has provided a shady meeting spot for generations of Miriam Vale residents, and has provided welcome shade for many Anzac Day services
