Sierre/Siders, VS, Switzerland - Train Stations/Depots on Waymarking.com

EN: The Sierre train station is located south of the old town. It was opened by the Ligne d'Italie in 1868 and was the final stop of a connection to Lausanne and further to the French border. In 1877 the line, now operated by Compagnie du Simplon, was expanded to Leuk and in the following year to Brig.

The line has been owned by SBB since 1903. It was electrified in 1927.

Today the station has seven tracks, of which only three are used for passenger train stops. Today, an InterRegio between Geneva and Brig and a regional line between Monthey and Brig stop in Sierre, both every half hour.

I was unable to find out any details about the elongated cuboid station building in exposed brick and concrete construction. Obviously it is not the original train station. I suspect it dates from the 1970s.

FR: La gare de Sierre est située au sud de la vieille ville. Il a été ouvert par la Ligne d'Italie en 1868 et était le dernier arrêt d'une connexion à Lausanne et plus loin à la frontière française. En 1877, la ligne, désormais exploitée par la Compagnie du Simplon, est étendue à Leuk et l'année suivante à Brig.

La ligne appartient aux CFF depuis 1903. Elle a été électrifiée en 1927.

Aujourd'hui, la gare possède sept voies, dont seulement trois sont utilisées pour les arrêts de trains de voyageurs. Aujourd'hui, un InterRegio entre Genève et Brigue et une ligne régionale entre Monthey et Brigue s'arrêtent à Sierre, toutes les demi-heures.

Je n'ai pas pu découvrir quoi que ce soit sur le bâtiment de la station cuboïde allongée dans la construction en brique et en béton apparent. Ce n'est évidemment pas la gare d'origine. Je soupçonne que cela date des années 1970.

Er wurde 1868 von der Ligne d'Italie eröffnet und war die Endhaltestelle einer Verbindung nach Lausanne und weiter zur französischen Grenze. 1877 wurde die Strecke, inzwischen von der Compagnie du Simplon betrieben, weiter nach Leuk erweitert und im folgenden Jahr nach Brig.

Seit 1903 gehört die Linie der SBB. 1927 wurde die Strecke elektrifiziert.

Heute hat der Bahnhof sieben Geleise, wovon aber nur drei für Personenzugshalte verwendet werden. Heute halten in Siders ein InterRegio zwischen Genf und Brig sowie eine Regionallinen zwischen Monthey und Brig, beide im Halbstundentakt.

Über das langgezogene quaderförmige Bahnhofsgebäude in Sichtbackstein- und Betonbauweise konnte ich nichts in Erfahrung bringen. Es ist aber offensichtlich nicht der ursprüngliche Bahnhof. Ich vermute, er stammt aus den 1970er Jahren.
