Just outside the chain link fence that surrounds the municipal swimming pool in the 200 block of S. Jefferson Street, this nine foot high metal sculpture stands in a location that seems out of place. Painted a dull orange, it is beginning to rust. As best we can determine, it is a depiction of a Native American warrior, although there is no title shown.

It stands on metal poles which are welded to a "breastplate" painted with six white chevron stripes. The "arms" are lifted high and hold a bent metal pipe. The head is a metal cylinder about 10 inches in diameter and 18 inches long. A triangular nose is attached with a simple mouth and eyes painted on. Two black metal feathers protrude from behind the head.

Beneath the breastplate is a metal area which has the words "Donated by Highland Supply Corp." Highland is a local business dealing in florist supplies and "Easter grass". Strange world this is!
