The plaque states:
Herold & Kremers
8 East 8th Street
Constructed in 1892 by Ernest Herold
and Dr. Henry Kremers to accommodate the
Central Drug Store, this building has since
been the site of a wide variety of retail
businesses. The decorative oriel windows
and elaborate detailing evident in the
building’s brick facade and cornice
design are all typical of the late
19th century Victorian period.
An oriel window is a form of bay window which protrudes from the main wall of a building but does not reach to the ground. Supported by corbels, brackets, or similar, an oriel window is most commonly found projecting from an upper floor but is also sometimes used on the ground floor.

Visit Instructions:Take a photo of your GPS at the marker. We'd prefer a photo of you with your GPS, but we realize that sometimes that's just not possible or preferable.
Also include a bit about your visit to the marker.
NEW: Instructions for logging Missing Marker Visits.
If the Marker is missing, but still listed here, you must provide a photo of you at the actual item historically honored. (This should be the waymark's "default" image). Indicate in your log that you took your photo at the Historical Location instead of the marker, because the marker was missing. Please also still include a bit about your visit to the site.
